Pormade e-commerce

Using Carbono, Pormade Portas has an agile, robust, stable and personalized e-commerce with deliveries from different origins.

A recognized company in the segment of doors, screens, wallpapers and other decoration and construction items, Pormade was founded in 1939 and has always sought to combine tradition with modernity. Since 2015, when it decided to sell products to the final consumer, the company has been working to improve its customers’ experience.

Currently, the company noted the need for a customized platform, which would allow products to be shipped from different origins without affecting the customer’s browsing process in e-commerce. In addition, greater speed and robustness were needed to keep up with customer traffic and possible product customizations (size, material, finish, among others).

Pormade’s e-commerce is an extremely important project, because, in addition to the final consumer buying directly from the factory, works as a “showcase” of the company’s other sales channels (showrooms, franchises, showroom trucks, showroom buses), and also facilitates the presentation of products, quotation of values, and freight for customers.

Main features of Pormade e-commerce

Low development time

WEBJUMP implemented Carbono, an e-commerce accelerator that exploits the native capabilities of Magento 2 and Commerce Cloud. Customized and adapted for the Brazilian market, the operating platform encompasses security, speed and practicality in a single structure, providing the best time-to-market in Magento solutions. In addition, Carbono has a selection of ready-to-use templates, responsive design and several other mechanisms that simplify user navigation.

Deliveries with different origins

Pormade launched the first version of its e-commerce in 2016, enabling the sale of doors and skirting boards from one unit with delivery throughout Brazil. However, as the items were sent to the customer from different origins (the doors are sent from the factory located in União da Vitória-PR and the floors are from São Paulo-SP), the company observed the need for a customized platform, that would enable the shipment of products from various origins without affecting the customer’s navigation process in e-commerce.

Cheaper shipping

The main development was the issue of freight quotation: due to the product being personalized, WEBJUMP needed to develop something totally tailored to Pormade’s type of business. The company became more assertive in terms of shipping costs, because, as before the e-commerce quote was per packages, an average was made on the shipping cost, which had an impact on the price. With the development carried out, a lower freight price was calculated for the final consumer, considering the different origins of the products.

Product Customization

In the case of doors, e-commerce is the only one where the customer can customize the product according to wall thickness, model, locks, hinges and other particularities. The kit is shipped ready to install, with the leaf and frame already assembled, and it should only be necessary to cut the frames to complete the installation process.

Fast, robust and stable platform

In addition, Pormade presented several instabilities on the old site due to the constant customizations of the project. The previous platform was not prepared to receive a series of customizations (modules, adjustments, etc.), and the consequence of this was instabilities during the client’s navigation. Carbono solved all these issues.
